Ironic how the site is still running and Zac suddenly has time now that the site is sponsored. If he needed sponsorship to continue running the site he should have asked for sponsorship, instead of simply turning his site off in the middle of a contest he was running. This left many gamers who had signed up, bought miniatures, painted them up with the hope of winning prizes in a state of limbo.

Shutting down a site with no warning to the sponsors that were contributing prizes, the users that had invested money in the hope of winning prizes was extremely ill thought out. In fact it appeared that no thought went into how to elegantly shut down at all. In my book one only does something like that out of pure frustration or anger hence the "nerd rage" moniker. If he was truly thinking of shutting the site why start a contest that required users to buy miniatures in order to enter?

Was I personally invested in said contest, yes I was. Was I venting about the extreme lack of professionalism and the feeling of being duped into a contest, that at the time, looked like it had no possibility of continuing? You bet I was.

I appreciate your honest opinion. You may never come back to read this comment but it is nice to know there are people out there that aren't afraid to call you out on something.

The guy says that he simply doesn't want to devote the time to the site anymore and you call this "nerd rage frustration"?

Sounds like someone's panties got in a bunch cause his favorite gaming website is getting taken down. Yea, the guy doesn't want to do it anymore... get over it, it's his choice to make.

Sheesh, give a guy his own website and he thinks he can just barf up any delusional miss-information about anyone.

Not that I know of. I would imagine though that someone will pay the ransom money to have the site back up and running (Zac would likely pick up a co owner in the process). There is too much marketing value for small indie shops for them to let it disappear overnight like that.

In the time I've spent reading TGN I have learned of so many interesting games that I would have never known otherwise. It's indeed a shame now that the site is gone.

Are there other generic miniatures news sites that would sort of fill in the niche out there?
