flames of war panzer IVFlames of War Command has been launched and covers FoW in the same format as at-43 addict. If you’re into Flames of War (it’s my historical TTG of choice) why not check it out. I’ve been playing FoW for awhile now and found that getting into the game was a bit daunting at first, I’m hoping the blog will help new players get a handle on the basics and into the great game of Flames of War.

Errata Section Released

Posted in Articles on February 21st, 2009 by Vastatum – 3 Comments

We all know how much of a pain tracking down Rackhams rule errata are, so I’m doing the leg work and compiling an easy to navigate errata section. The Faction specific errata sections will get filled out over the rest of the weekend but for new players, I’m hoping this will aleviate a lot of confusion over what the current rules are. They are easily accessable via the nav bar at the top. Hope everyone’s having a great weekend.

The post over at tabletop gaming news sparked a small firestorm and after the dust settled there was a lot of valuable feedback. There were a few recurring themes that players kept returning to. Most of them revolve around releasing in a timely fashion and communicating with the public. Here are a few excerpts to illustrate the point.

AT-43 Looking Better

Posted in Articles on February 19th, 2009 by Vastatum – 1 Comment

at43logoThere is an interesting discussion over at tabletop gaming news about how at-43 is going. The article points to the poor rules translations, long periods between releases and the non existent communication from Rackham about anything. The article shines a critical light on Rackham, something that doesn’t happen all that often over here at at-43addict. 4 months ago I would have agreed that rackham is in decline, its part of the reason I started this blog, I wanted to help support the community through a rather rough patch and help new gamers out. Today is a different story.

Amazing Cards and Tokens

Posted in Articles on February 18th, 2009 by Vastatum – 2 Comments

Universalhead over on the at-43 Forums has created some amazing looking AT-43 Cards. They include all of the special abilities of each unit and look very sharp. The guy does some nice work and I wish all the AT-43 unit cards were designed this well you can get the full set here. He didn’t stop there either and made a full set of custom tokens he uses for his activation sequence. If I had cards that looked this nice I wouldn’t want to flip them over either. With unit cards and activation tokens out of the way he decided “why stop there” and with a roundhouse kick to photoshop created a great reference sheet.

He also makes reference sheets for every game ever made so they’re worth checking out too.

Fun With Frontline

rbch03__01Now that I have my Hussar I decided to put together a 2000 point Red Blok Frontline list that utilized it and see how it played out. I must say I really like the new list and found it performed really well. I was playing a Therian opponent and found that having 2 type ** afvs was invaluable. With repairs from the krasnye and from Urod there was little my opponent could do short of taking out an afv in one barrage. The sierps did melt pretty quickly but they got their primary job done. Ground the Banes. The list is as follows. read more »
